He’ll be back
8:06 a.m. — 6400 block of Gulfside Road.
Suspicious Person. Police awoke a man and sent him on his way after they found him sleeping in the bushes. The man, described as “well-known to police,” then sat on the bus-stop bench and said he was getting on the bus to leave the area.

In the bag
4:11 p.m. — 5600 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive
. Property Found. The manager of a landscape-and-maintenance company told police that his crews found a blue leather purse containing a Kentucky driver’s license, checkbook and other personal items. The purse was stolen during a vehicle burglary four days earlier on Bradenton Beach. Bradenton Beach police notified the owner that her property was found.

Kayak caper
4:29 p.m. — 600 block of Cedar Street
. Larceny from Private Property. The manager of a pro shop reported that a kayak was taken from the property between June 10 and July 25.

Sounds like a code-enforcement violation
5:25 p.m. — 3200 block of Bayou Sound.
Code Enforcement. After receiving an anonymous complaint, police issued a written warning to a landscaper about using a chainsaw between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. The man agreed to comply with the town’s code, which prohibits use of noise-emitting yard machinery after hours.

Pot poacher
9:58 a.m. —
600 block of Halyard Lane. Larceny from Private Property. A woman reported that a large painted flowerpot with a nautical theme was stolen from outside her home. The suspect dumped the flower and dirt onto the driveway and took the pot.

One step closer?
4:10 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway.
Lost Property. A man reported his wallet missing and told police he last saw it in an island grocery store. He retraced his steps but was unable to find it.

July 29
Clothes call
6:27 a.m. — 300 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive.
Property Found. A pair of shorts, a polo shirt and a brown belt were found on a bench.
