Town to select District 5 commissioner

The Longboat Key Town Commission must appoint a north-end Key resident tonight to replace the District 5 seat vacated by former commissioner Robert Siekmann last month.

Also at its regular meeting at Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road, the commission will:

Consider forwarding to its May 2 regular meeting:
• An ordinance that prohibits parking in the state’s right of way along Gulf of Mexico Drive.

Consider adopting:
• An ordinance that approves a street name change from Triton Avenue to Triton Bend.

Consider passing:
• A resolution that approves a rate increase/fuel adjustment for its waste management contract.
• A resolution that allows the town to enter into an interlocal agreement with Longboat Key Beach Erosion Control Districts A and B for the implementation of a future beach project.

Appoint:
• Key residents to its boards and committees as required by town code and outside agencies.
