Key Club pledges $100,000 to Operation Condor

Longboat Key Club and Resort General Manager Michael Welly has pledged $100,000 to Operation Condor, an effort to rally local businesses from Anna Maria Island to Sarasota to provide value-incentive commitments to attract the Hamburg-based Condor Air. The airline could offer direct flights from Frankfurt to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ).

Engel & Völkers Longboat Key/Anna Maria Island President/Broker Ray Alexander and agent Tina Rudek are leading Operation Condor efforts.

Alexander and Rudek are seeking commitments by July 18.

SRQ and Condor officials will meet July 19.
