The two permeable, adjustable-type groins built behind The Islander Club in May are holding sand in the area.
Public Works Director Juan Florensa told The Longboat Observer that the $1 million project is working well to hold sand behind the two condominium towers.
The video below depicts the northernmost groin during a recent afternoon and shows the warning sign that greets visitors, as well as one of the many birds that frequents the structures daily.
