+ Euphemia Haye takes the cake for desserts
Euphemia Haye has been awarded SRQ magazine’s “Best Desserts” honor in the annual “Best of SRQ Local” competition. Winners were chosen by readers in online balloting, and more than 1,000 entries were submitted.

“We’re thrilled that SRQ’s readers have chosen Euphemia Haye as their favorite dessert destination,” said proprietor D’Arcy Arpke. “This is a great award that is shared by all our employees as a result of their hard work and their commitment to making Euphemia Haye the area’s premier live music, dining and dessert destination.”

+ Owners of Café Galante to hold open house
Faez and Dee Dee Khayyata, who recently became owners of Café Galante, 419A St. Armands Circle, will hold a grand opening/open-house week from Monday, May 3 through Sunday, May 9. Customers will receive a 10% discount Monday through Saturday, and mothers will receive a 25% discount on Mother’s Day, May 9. Complimentary mimosas will be offered all week with the purchase of an entrée. The restaurant will also hold business-card drawings for a free meal with the purchase of any meal of equal or greater value. Call 388-2222.

+ Local restaurants prepare for Savor Sarasota event
Savor Sarasota, a 14-day dining event, during which participating restaurants offer a multi-course meal ranging from $15 to $25 per person, will take place from June 1 through June 14. Participating Longboat Key restaurants are Dry Dock Waterfront Grill, Euphemia Haye, Harry’s Continental Kitchens, Pattigeorge’s and The Colony Restaurants. Café L’Europe, on St. Armands Circle, and Lido Beach Grille, on Lido Key, will also participate. For information, go to savorsarasota.org.

+ Tasti D-Lite reopens on St. Armands Circle

Tasti D-Lite reopened its location at 327A St. Armands Circle Friday, April 16. The frozen-dessert store closed after sustaining damage in a November fire. Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week. Call 388-0300.
