Longboat Key resident Lillian Sands will host a benefit for the Humane Society of Manatee County from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at her home. New York Times bestselling author Susan Richards, who wrote “Chosen By a Horse” and “Chosen Forever,” will sign copies of her books. Book-sale proceeds will benefit the Humane Society.
