Nov. 26
EXTINGUISHER ANGUISH

11 p.m. — 1000 block of South School Avenue. Burglary — Structure. The custodian at a high school reported that, sometime during a four-day span, someone smashed in two garage doors on the north side of the school’s football field. During that time, the person entered through one of the doors and removed a fire extinguisher from the wall inside. The fire extinguisher was found on the ground outside of the garage, emptied. No other items were missing, the custodian reported.

Nov. 28
JUMPING OVERBOARD

9 p.m. — 1900 block of Gillespie Avenue. Criminal Mischief. A man contacted police after discovering his fence was missing a board. The man said that, when he went to sleep the previous night, everything was normal, and he found the missing plank while walking his dog the next morning. He said that, sometimes, people jump over his fence from nearby apartments, and he has had to repair his fence in the past as a result.

Nov. 30
BLOOD, SWEAT AND BEERS

10:37 p.m. — 1000 block of 22nd Street. Dispute/Fight. A man reported that another male knocked on his door at night, asking for money for beer. The man said the male had blood on his shirt, and thought he saw a knife in his hand, though he wasn’t sure what type of knife it was. The man told the male he wasn’t going to give him any money, and that he shouldn’t be knocking on his door late at night. The male acknowledged the advice before leaving the area. Officers were unable to locate the male after arriving at the man’s house.

TAPPED OUT
9:18 p.m. — 2500 block of Bay Street. Suspicious Noise. A woman reported that she heard a tapping noise on a door in the back of her house. Her dog began to bark, and the woman was afraid to check for the source of the noise. An officer walked around the house and did not locate anything suspicious.

Dec. 1
SLEEPLESS IN SARASOTA

11:54 p.m. — 4900 block of Bradenton Road. Civil Problem. A woman said she moved out of her apartment a few days earlier, and left a bed behind to remove at a later date. When she returned for the bed, she found it was missing. She believed the apartment manager took the bed. The manager said she did not have any knowledge as to who took the bed.

THE PITS
12:16 p.m. — 3200 block of Clark Drive. Suspicion Person. A woman reported an unknown man was on her property, staring at her through the front window. The woman said this has happened before, and that the man takes avocados from her tree, claiming they belong to him.
