70 students in Longboat

Town seeks number of public school-enrolled children.

While there's no accounting for students who attend private school or are officially homeschooled, the town recently learned how many Longboat Key children go to public schools in Manatee or Sarasota counties. 

The answer: 70. 

32 from Sarasota County Schools (including four enrolled at charter schools)

38 from Manatee County Schools.
