Staying grounded
5:24 a.m. -- 400 block of Longboat Club Road. Boat Rescue. Police found a 40-foot fiberglass sailboat and three men stranded near the beach on the south end of the island. The boat owner told police they were on their way to Mississippi when a large wave damaged the boat. The boat ran aground while he tried to maneuver into New Pass. The boat was removed at high tide with the help of a salvage company and several boats.
