A sold-out crowd of 300 filled the left field seating area at Ed Smith Stadium Saturday evening for Jazz in the Ballpark.Â
The event was the first of its kind hosted by the Jazz Club of Sarasota. Fans of Frank Sinatra were delighted by the theme for the evening. The performance highlighted songs from early in Sinatra's career and collaboration with jazz pianist Count Basie.Â
Jazz soloist and Sarasota native Lisanne Lyons returned to the stage to perform alongside the 17-piece Sarasota Jazz Project Big Band for select numbers.Â
