3 a.m. - 7305 S.R. 70 E. (BP Gas Station). Petit retail theft. The complainant reported an unknown suspect came into the gas station and headed directly to the beer display. He picked up a 24-pack of beer and ran out the door without paying for the beer. The complainant observed the suspect get into the suspect vehicle, which drove toward the Creekwood subdivision. The complainant stated the incident might have been caught on camera. If so, he will bring the video evidence to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. The complainant was given a case number.

Donna and David Halligan, Sarasota, sold their home at 6907 River Birch Court to Ronald Hock and Lori Cortellini, Bradenton, for $597,500. Built in 1998, it has three bedrooms, three baths, a pool and 3,662 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $525,000 in 2001.

'Extreme Couponing': The Longboat Key edition 3:40 p.m. - 6700 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive. Suspicious Circumstance. A man told police that two daily newspapers delivered to a box near his condominium no longer come with extra clip-out coupons and told police he believes that someone has been stealing the coupons and leaving the newspapers inside. The man credited the possible theft to a recent TV series glamorizing the use of coupons.

Steven and Susan Freedman, of Lutz, sold Unit B-704 at 535 Sanctuary Drive in Unit IV of the 186-unit Sanctuary to Melvyn and Eleanor Glickman, 585 Sanctuary Drive, for $1,075,000. Built in 1990, the 2,590-square-foot unit has three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. It last sold for $1,425,000 in June 2003.
