With Art Falls' death this past Saturday in Sarasota - exactly one month shy of his 87th birthday - Longboat Key lost one of its community godfathers and a man who spent 30 years making Longboat Key a better place for everyone - residents, visitors and businesses.

The Anheuser-Busch World Environment Beach Clean Up 2013 Day held July 27, at Quick Point Nature Preserve on Longboat Key, yielded 34 bags of debris that volunteers collected in recyclable bags and disposed of in the proper receptacles at the park.
