Explosive event 2:11 p.m. - 700 block of Broadway. Boat. A man told police that he and his companion left a restaurant after lunch, and when they started up their Jet Ski, it exploded and knocked them into the water. No one suffered any injuries.

Lido property tops week's sales

Lewis and Debra Comer, of Unit 1104, sold Unit A-802 at L'Elegance on Lido Beach, 1800 Benjamin Franklin Drive, to Kerstin Halsall, Constance Crosby and Cecil Rochwerg, as trustees of The Sapphire Trust, of Ontario, for $1,083,000. Built in 1996, the 1,980-square-foot unit has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It last sold for $718,000 in April 2000.
