The Longboat Key, Lido Key, St. Armands Key Chamber of Commerce hosted it's Networking at Noon at Holiday Inn Lido Beach on Thursday, Feb 9. The group enjoyed lunch overlooking the beach at Lido from the seventh-floor dining room at the hotel. The speaker was Nancy Taussig of Barefoot Weddings.

Tables of roulette and black jack, were scattered around the Island House Dining Room at Longboat Key Club and Resort and each was full of patrons raking in the chips for the Go for the Cure casino night fundraiser on Wednesday, Feb. 8. Some guests dressed in their finest pink, matching the pink decor for the evening of dinner, dancing and gambling.

The local artists and members of Bird Key Yacht Club's work decked the walls with capturing area spots like Marie Selby Gardens and Morton's Gourmet Market, sculptures of alabaster and large-scale photos from vacations away from the key. The yacht club hosted its annual art opening for its member's exhibit on Feb. 8, proving just how much talent is among its members.

It was a showdown between Yacht Club bowling teams, Bird Key Yacht Club v. Sarasota Yacht Club, on Wednesday, Feb. 9. The teams met at AMF Lanes off of Tamiami trail, far from their neck of the woods, and had an afternoon of bowling followed by dinner hosted at Sarasota Yacht Club. It appeared that everyone was having a (bowling) ball.
