Bird Key home sells for $1.62 million

A home in Bird Key tops all transactions in this week's real estate. Patricia Valenti, trustee, of Sarasota, sold the home at 647 N. Owl Drive to Robert O'Connell, of Decatur, Ill., for $1.62 million.

Longboat Key Club and Resort celebrated the Fourth Of July with a beach-bash lobster barbecue. Members and guests adorned in our nation's colors dined under a big white tent on the beach.
