Siesta Key home sells for $2.4 million

A home in Siesta's Bayside tops all sales in this week's real-estate transactions. Donald and Cynthia Paxton, of Sarasota, sold their home at 506 Venice Lane to Gerard Lee, trustee, for $2.45 million.

Florida institutes news seat belt law

On June 30, a new seat belt law went into effect, making it a primary offense not to wear a seat belt. The change means that law enforcement officers can pull over cars if they spot a driver, front seat passenger or individuals under 18 years old not wearing a seat belt.
