Junior League hosts Oktoberfest

The Junior League of Sarasota celebrated Oktoberfest Sarasota 2010 Oct. 9 at Gold Coast Eagle Distributors in Lakewood Ranch. The event included a silent auction, food and an assortment of beers to enjoy. The money raised by the event went to the Community Outreach Program in Sarasota.

Doctors make some noise

Doctor Idol, a battle of the bands featuring local musician-physicians that drew more than 600 people and raised more than $10,000 last year to benefit the Ear Research Foundation, returned again to Michael's On East. Proceeds will benefit Florida's Vision Quest.
