Nolan Middle School turned its cafeteria into a dance hall for the school's fall dance Oct. 28. The dance featured plenty of tunes as well as a haunted house for Halloween.

NOPE Vigil lights hope for future

Families and friends who have lost loved ones to drug overdoses gathered at the Manatee County Judicial Center tonight for the NOPE Candlelight Vigil. The event was held as part of Red Ribbon Week, the country's oldest and largest drug prevention campaign.

Polo Grill celebrates Halloween

Dressed in their Halloween best, families headed to the Polo Grill and Bar Oct. 27 for the restaurant's Halloween Party and Pumpkin Carving Contest. Attendees made candy apples, decorated cupcakes and other treats and checked out entries for the pumpkin-carving contest.

Families flock to fall fun on the farm

Thousands of residents from throughout the region flooded the East County for a weekend of fall fun at the Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Festival Oct. 23-24. The festival featured everything from live music and entertainment to games and, of course, the famous pumpkin patch. The festival will be open for one more weekend, Oct. 30-31.

Decorated from head to toe in all shades of pink, hundreds of East County residents laced up their tennis shoes and gathered at the Sarasota Polo Club for the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K walk Oct. 23. Following the walk, participants enjoyed a survivor reception and brunch.
