If only the man with the hand-rolled stogies didn't cancel last minute, Saturday, Nov. 3 would have been a triple threat at Ocean Blues: Cigar City beer, Cigar Box Guitars, and cigars. The first festival celebrating craft beer and regional roots and blues artists playing hand-made cigar box guitars was a good time for the 100 or so people in attendance. And according to event organizers owner of Ocean Blues Scott Reid and musician Steve Arvey - Sarasota can expect more events like it.

The Ringling Museum of Art held Ringling Underground on Thursday Nov. 1. This was an opportunity for art students to showcase their work. The public listened to live music from bands like Bwedge and The Send Offs as well as shared drinks and mingled.

Sarasota Youth Opera to premiere "Little Nemo in Slumberland"

Around 100 students age 8 to 17 will perform in the cast of the first-ever performance of "Little Nemo in Slumberland," commissioned specifically for them. The music is by Daron Aric Hagen and the Libretto by J.D. McClatchy. The two sat down to discuss the creation process.

The Crosley Supper Club held their first event The Masque of the Red Death on Wednesday Oct.31 at the Powel Crosley Estate and Museum. The masquerade was based off the Edgar Allan Poe story The Masque of the Red Death where the main character Prince Prospero holds a masquerade party during a plague. Over 300 people attended the decked out party, complete with actors, music, food, drinks and an amazing view.
