Richard Frank Wokoun

Richard Frank Wokoun, age 69, of Lakewood Ranch, passed away on April 26, 2026. Rick was born on September 30, 1956, in Lincoln, to Jinsie Scott Bingham and the late Richard Bingham and the late Dr. William Frank Wokoun. He grew up in Greencastle, where he was a varsity athlete, drummer, and class leader. Rick remained deeply connected to Greencastle through family and friends throughout his life. He graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business and later earned an MBA in Finance from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

Rick’s career began at American Fletcher National Bank, now part of Chase, in Indianapolis, where he met Linda Keyser Wokoun. They were married on May 2, 1981, and were blessed with three sons: Daniel, David, and Nathan. As a banker, Rick served customers throughout the Midwest, West Coast, and Central America before concluding his career serving the banking needs of his local community at Barrington Bank & Trust in Barrington.

Community service was a keystone of Rick’s life, serving in leadership roles and fundraising with Chicago-area youth football programs. During this time, he served as a trustee for the Village of South Barrington and carried on a family tradition as a third-generation Rotarian, serving the Rotary Club of Barrington as president. Rick continued his commitment to community service in retirement, volunteering at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center for 12 years.

Above all his professional and community achievements, Rick was most proud of his family.

Those who will cherish his memory include his wife, Linda Wokoun; his three sons, Daniel Frank Wokoun (daughter-in-law Katie Wokoun and granddaughter Addison Jinsie Wokoun), David Alexander Wokoun (daughter-in-law Krysta Harmon), and Nathan Richard Wokoun (daughter-in-law Megan Wokoun and grandsons Nicholas Richard Wokoun and Liam Graham Wokoun). Rick is also survived by his mother, Jinsie Scott Bingham, and his brother, Douglas Scott Wokoun.

Services will be held in Greencastle at the Inn at DePauw on June 27, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m., and on November 7, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at home in Lakewood Ranch.
