Citing its sound policies, effective procedures, and positive community impact, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has awarded the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce a 5-Star Accreditation.
“Chambers of commerce that achieve an accreditation designation are leaders in the industry,” said Raymond Towle, U.S. Chamber Vice President, in a news release. “When chambers earn the distinction of becoming accredited, it is a mark of excellence for the organization, its staff, and its leadership.”
According to the news release, the U.S. Chamber's Accreditation Program promotes excellence in the chamber industry and fosters a pro-business environment. To earn accreditation, a chamber must meet standards in governance, government affairs, communications and technology.
“The prestigious 5-Star Accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is a distinction earned by fewer than 2% of the 7,000 chambers nationwide,” said Sarasota Chamber President and CEO Heather Kasten in the news release. “This recognition reflects our commitment to excellence, accountability, and impactful service to our business community.”
Local chambers are rated as Accredited, 3 Stars, 4 Stars or 5 Stars. State chambers are recognized as either Accredited State Chamber or Accredited State Chamber with Distinction. The Accrediting Board, a committee of U.S. Chamber board members, makes the final determination.
