Temple Beth Israel hosted a welcome back party after its Friday service on Jan. 5.

Esther Emmerman led the committee that put together this dinner to welcome back snowbirds and new members to Temple Beth Israel. They started the party with the Temple Beth Israel choir singing traditional Jewish songs. Then, everyone sat down for a Greek dinner.

Co-presidents Marion Levine and Michael Boorstein welcomed 49 new members to the temple. New members were introduced to the community and received certificates representing their membership.

“We have actively started recruiting members,” said Isaac Azerad, executive director at the Temple. “We have gone into the community. We have been talking to people. Longboat Key is growing so we are excited to welcome everyone and make sure they have an inviting and warm community here.”
