Photo by Lori SaxA cancer diagnosis that was once seen as a death sentence has now turned into an opportunity for hope, according to the keynote speaker at the Moffitt Cancer Center's Mission Possible luncheon.
Dr. Brian Czerniecki, department chair of breast oncology at Moffitt, shared how new therapies to treat cancer are giving more patients more hope and better outcomes than ever before. About 250 guests in attendance at the luncheon April 4 at Michael’s On the Bay at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens learned about this research.
The advances are just part of the progress Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation is making in treating the disease since establishing its Research Innovation Fund in 2020. The fund provides seed funding for projects and key research initiatives at the center, including clinical trials and new treatments. Funds raised at the luncheon benefit the fund.
