Braden Woods' Kathy Varsalona knows what makes her happy, so why not spread the message?

On Oct. 11, Varsalona was doing just that at the Braden River Library's Adult and Senior Rock Painting Class.

The rock she painted, indeed, included the word "Happy."

She also painted a bee and a heart on the same rock.

"I've been painting rocks at home and I hide them in the neighborhood," Varsalona said. "I've never been to a class (at the library) before, but I think I'm going to start coming monthly."

Varsalona said it puts a smile on her face when she sees someone find one of her rocks in Braden Woods. They are simple messages, such as "peace" and "joy."

The rocks that were painted at the library's class will go into the library's butterfly garden.
