Crash knocks out traffic lights at downtown intersection

A two-car collision at Fruitville Road and Osprey Avenue is expected to delay traffic for several hours on Wednesday.

The Sarasota Police Department is investigating a two-vehicle crash with minor injuries at the intersection of Fruitville Road and Osprey Avenue around noon Thursday.

The crash damaged the traffic signals, which are expected to be inoperable for seven to 12 hours, SPD said in a Twitter post.
