Man dies in single-car crash on Tara Boulevard in Bradenton

A 42-year-old man from Bangor, Maine, was killed Tuesday afternoon when he lost control of his sedan on a curve to the right on Tara Boulevard near Chickasaw Bayou Road in Bradenton.

A Florida Highway Patrol report said the southbound car hit a light pole and two street signs in the median, then crossed the northbound lanes and hit a tree at approximately 4:47 p.m.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The single-car crash is under investigation.
