Photo by Harry SayerIn a theme inspired by works in its winter exhibition, the Sarasota Art Museum welcomed guests to an "industrial wonderland" for its Art Bash fundraiser Dec. 9.
After a cocktail hour in the Sarasota Art Museum's courtyard, guests — who dressed up for the theme by incorporating metallic clothing and accessories into their attire — entered a tent in the parking lot that was transformed into an elegant dinner space. In line with the theme, it was a blend of traditional and new, with the decor ranging from bright bouquets of flowers to large, shiny silver spheres.
Teri Hansen, Sherry and Tom Koski and Pauline Wamsler co-chaired the event, which supports the museum's season exhibitions as well as its education programs and arts classes. Sarasota Art Museum's sole focus is on exploring and promoting contemporary art.
The night’s program included words from Ringling College President Larry Thompson, SAM Executive Director Virginia Shearer, the event’s co-chairs and more. Guests took to their feet and danced along to the Madd Jazz band once the night’s live auction and paddle raise had concluded.
