A Sarasota woman is in the Manatee County jail on no bond in connection with a pair of high-profile burglaries of businesses in St. Armands Circle and a third on Webber Road in unincorporated Sarasota County.

Sarasota Police announced the arrest of Kara Plocharsky, 31, and the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said she had been similarly charged in a third similar case. All three charges are felonies.

Around 3:30 a.m. on June 4, someone smashed the front door and broke a window in the Green Zebra Café on John Ringling Causeway and The Met on Boulevard of the Presidents. After entering one of the businesses, the woman stole several items and left.

About a half-hour later, the Sheriff’s Office said, deputies responded to an alarm at the 8 Ball Lounge, at 3527 Webber Road. The deputies found a broken glass front door. A perimeter was set up around the area while a K-9 team conducted a search of the building with no results.

Surveillance footage from the 8 Ball Lounge showed a woman in a motorcycle helmet smash the front door, enter the building and hurl dozens of liquor bottles to the floor.

Detectives connected Plocharsky as the individual seen in the surveillance video. With the assistance of the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, she was arrested Wednesday in Manatee County.
