Old friends are never fore-gotten at the Women's Golf Association, and at the Longboat Key organization's first round of the season on Nov. 16, friends old and new caught up over a round of golf and lunch.

Shortly after finishing up their first 18 holes of the season, groups of women found their way to the Harbourside Ballroom for lunch. The scores trickled in as the golfers did, and golf pro Terry O'Hara shuffled the top teams on the board until the leading ladies of the links were determined. For the first round of the year, there were 21 teams of four players each.

As golfers picked up plates from the buffet line and sat down, President Sandy Finnegan began the meeting with a hearty, "Welcome home," to claps from her club members. Board members gave brief updates on club goings-on, including financials, future golf outings and how to score a round.
