About 70 women from the Women's Guild of St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church gathered for a warm welcome back on Nov. 2. After morning mass, the group made its way to the Father Edward Pick Fellowship Hall, where a catered meal and fall decor awaited.

The Women's Guild hadn't met since before the pandemic began in early 2020, so a party was long overdue. Members mingled or perused the merchandise and crafts for the upcoming Christmas Bazaar before finding their seats for lunch.

After the prayer and before the meal, there was some business to take care of. The Women's Guild was in need of a new president, and a committee had nominated longtime member Cindy Noble. After Mary Elizabeth Carey led a vote, there was an overwhelming amount of support for Noble to take the lead.
