It was a rough night for offenses of area high school football teams.

Both Sarasota and Booker high schools put up zeroes, the Sailors on the road to Bainbridge (Ga.) 51-0, and the Tornadoes to Port Charlotte 38-0. Both of these schools are or will be involved with short weeks: Sarasota played on Sept. 18, defeating North Port High 27-6, and Booker will play on Sept. 25 against Hardee High.

Cardinal Mooney was not shut out, but its offense scored just seven points in the first half of its game against Lemon Bay. The Cougars dominated the second half, though, and beat the Manta Rays 22-7

Riverview High had none of these problems, shutting out Alonso High 44-0. Rams junior running back Ali Boyce had 112 yards and two touchdowns in the win, and teammate Michael Hayes added 90 rushing yards and two touchdowns of his own.
