It took Executive Director Mary Dougherty-Slapp several minutes to get the chatty crowd of builders, business professionals and politicians at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota to take their seats Feb. 1.
The audience were guests at the Gulf Coast Builders Xchange 65th Annual Installation and Awards Dinner, which featured keynote speaker Senate Majority Leader Wilton Simpson.
Honoress included Lifetime Achievement Awardee Robert Flanders of Quality Walls Enterprises, Inc. and Chairman's Awardee Sarasota County Commissioner Alan Maio.
