The dress code was blue, but nobody was feeling down at the 5th Annual Blue Ties and Butterflies.
Child Protection Center supporters donned ensembles in the official color for child abuse awareness on April 19 at Michael’s On East, where organizers transformed the ballroom into an enchanting butterfly garden.
Festivities began with a cocktail hour featuring music by the Southside Elementary School Jazz Band, followed by a video featuring several supporters, a “mission moment” talk by CPC Executive Director Doug Staley and live auction led by Michael Klauber. Guests raised over $172,000 through donations and the live auction alone.
Programming concluded with a reenactment of some of the family situations that children helped by CPC have come from, along with a performance of a (somewhat) original song by Bart Lowther and Brian Mariash.
