Girls Inc. names ‘She Has No Clue Where She’s Going’ honoree

APRIL FOOLS'—On April 1 Girls Inc. of Sarasota County will present its annual “She Knows Where She’s Going” award during its annual luncheon.

But in a change to tradition, the organization announced that Executive Director Angie Stringer is the first recipient of a new honor: the “She Has No Clue Where She’s Going” award.

The organization recognizes women and girls who fit the mold of “strong, smart, bold.” But a spokeswoman said the second award will be given to recognize those who can admit to when they’re lost and in need of direction — or directions.

“She’s seriously always lost,” said one Girls Inc. member of Stringer.

Part of the thrill of receiving the award is that Stringer will be required to find it herself in a scavenger hunt with only a compass — no GPS allowed.

“Could I have a hint?” Stringer said. “Hot or cold? Marco Polo!”
