1. FRIDAY, March 11

The Lakewood Ranch boys and girls track teams face some of the top teams on the Gulf Coast during the Charlotte Invitational at Charlotte High. Nine teams compete in the invitational, which begins at 3 p.m. with field events.

2. SATURDAY, March 12-SUNDAY, March 13

International athletes compete alongside locals in seven different classes during the 2016 Sarasota-Bradenton Triathlon at Nathan Benderson Park. Competitors of all ages and abilities, from beginners to elite runners, will test their endurance.

3. TUESDAY, March 15

A pair of district leaders will take the field when the Lakewood Ranch softball team hosts rival Braden River at 7 p.m. The game will be the first of two meetings this season between the Pirates and Mustangs, who have a combined 20-1 record heading into the contest.

4. TUESDAY, March 15

Braden River and Lakewood Ranch may not be in the same district anymore, but that doesn’t mean the two East County rivals won’t have plenty to play for when they take the baseball diamond at 7 p.m. for the start of a three-game series. Lakewood Ranch will host the first game with the next two on March 16 and March 18 at Braden River.
