Jiggs Landing Preserve is open for business.

Although the park has been renovated since 2010, a vendor this weekend is offering cabin and canoe and kayak rentals for the first time.

TDKS Enterprises, doing business as Jiggs Landing Fish Camp, opened its new cabin and kayak/canoe rental operation at the preserve Thursday. Guests to the preserve also can purchase small concessions, such as doughnuts and coffee.

“It went really well. We had at least 100 people or so come by and look at the cabins (yesterday) and several made reservations,” said Don Collison, who co-owns TDKS with his two sisters and two friends.

By the end of the month, the group plans to open a small fish and tackle shop within the concession building. Eventually, it also will have rental fishing poles and  a small cafe, at which guests to the preserve can purchase sandwiches, sides and drinks.

Hours of operation are 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. For information, call Collison at 614-402-4836 or visit the Jiggs Landing Fish Camp Facebook page.
