With the springtime temperatures we’ve been having, your best bet this weekend is to get outside.

Start your weekend Friday night at Lakewood Ranch Main Street for the monthly Music on Main event.

Running from 6 to 9 p.m., April’s first friday celebration is special this month. Benefitting the Easter Seals Southwest Florida, Main Street will “Light it Up Blue” in honor of Autism Awareness Month. Businesses will be decorating their storefronts today with blue to enter the decorating contest. If you choose to go, make sure to also wear blue — Main Street will be be handing out prizes to five attendees who wear blue in support of the night.

Besides a blue evening, the streets will be lined with food, business vendors, live music and activities for a fun night for the family.

Can’t make it out tonight? You’ve still have options.

Saturday, make your way out to Jiggs Landing Preserve, 6106 63rd Street East, Bradenton, for the grand opening of

the new concessions and rentals vendor, Jiggs Landing Fish Camp. The vendor will be hosting a barbecue, fishing tournament and nature activities along with live music by Sam Woolfe. The celebration and fishing tournament run 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sam Woolfe will be performing from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
