GreyHawk Landing's first public event pulled in about 45 people to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
GreyHawk resident Margo Diener organized the 2-mile fun walk, held Saturday morning, Sept. 19. Diener is also a breast cancer survivor, and wanted to donate to the Foundation as well as raise awareness.
The event brought in both other GreyHawk residents as well as other East County residents who wanted to support the cause. Jennifer Reiss and Ashley Patterson, two East County residents, came to walk with their friend Nicole Van Blarcum.
"Our friend is a breast cancer survivor," they said. "We wanted to support her."
