With playing cards and various versions of "Alice in Wonderland" books lining the walls Oct. 29 inside Braden River Branch Library, the facility transformed to celebrate the story.

Employees dressed and acted as Alice, the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter and other fictional characters for the more than 25 attendees of the Halloween Treats: Alice in Wonderland event.

Attendees didn't leave the dressing up to the library staff members and volunteers, though. Some participants dressed to the theme, while others donned princess, witch and other costumes to celebrate Halloween a few days early.

Attendees snacked on cupcakes and colored pictures of the characters from the story, further helping bring Alice and her friends to life for one night.

Event hosts Shannon Mallard, Chris Culp, Jacob Owens and Maureen Flaherty dress for the occasion and theme of the night.
