In its debut since its more than four-year hiatus, Gene Witt Elementary's Soaring Eagle Choir performed a range of culturally-diverse songs for younger students at the school's final musical performance of the 2015-2016 school year, May 14. The annual Spring Concert also featured performances by the East County school's ORFFestra, also led by music teacher Marsha Juday. The groups totaled about 70 students, who also performed at night and the following day, sporting their In Memory of Gene Witt T-shirts. The concert was dedicated to the late educator for who the school was named.
