Creations ranging from sand castles to sharks decorated the shoreline for the 43rd annual Siesta Key Sand Sculpture Contest May 2.
The contest provides a chance for participants of all ages and experience levels to build their best using the soft sands of Siesta Beach. Some builders worked in teams while others enjoyed the creative process on their own. Crowds were able to watch the creations come to life throughout the morning and vote for which sand sculpture they liked best.
