As part of the Great American Cleanup residents and members of the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce picked up trash on Siesta Beach Saturday, March 21.
The county program Keep Sarasota Beautiful conducted the cleanup at Siesta Beach that will feature data from the volunteers. This is the first year that participants will be asked to submit electronically how many bags of trash and recyclables they collected from the clean up. More than 1,000 residents registered in the county to participate in either the Lido Beach or Siesta Key Beach cleanups. For Siesta Beach approximately 150 volunteers registered to help.
