JULY 19

 

OPEN HOUSE

8:15 a.m. — 3300 block of Sabal Cove Lane

Alarm: Police found a rear door to a home near the pool open when they checked the home after an alarm sounded. Nothing was missing inside the home and property managers arrived to lock up the home.

 

RESTAURANT CLOSED

10:35 p.m. — 5300 block of GMD

Security Check: Police found the patio door to a restaurant unlocked and secured the restaurant.

 

JULY 22

 

TOW-AWAY

1:32 p.m. — 3300 block of GMD

Vehicle Repossession: Police were informed a woman’s Ford pickup truck was being  repossessed and they couldn’t locate the owner to inform her it was being towed away.

 

CONCRETE REASONING

7:40 p.m. — 4700 block of GMD

Code Enforcement: A hotel construction manager told police he was sorry he was violating the town’s noise ordinance by working past 6 p.m., but concrete needed to be poured or damage to the structure would occur. He was given a verbal warning.  And no further action was taken.

 

JULY 23

 

CRACKED WINDSHIELD

8:15 p.m. — 5400 block of GMD

Public Service: A woman told police she found the windshield to her rental car cracked. Damage is estimated at $100.

 

JULY 25

 

HANDYMAN INTERROGATION

8:38 a.m. — 1100 block of Bogey Lane

Suspicious Person: A man called police to report a suspicious person wearing a red hat that was riding a bicycle in Country Club Shores and approaching vacant homes in the neighborhood. When police arrived and started to question the man, he became verbally defensive. He told police he does odd jobs in the area and knows many of the neighbors.

 

GENERATOR SILENCED

7:15 p.m. — 5800 block of GMD

Alarm: Police found a home secure, but an alarm was blaring from inside the garage. A generator in the garage was emitting an alarm and the officer was able to silence it. The property owner made plans to have the generator repaired.
