The board of trustees for Plymouth Harbor on Sarasota Bay is starting the new year with new additions and leadership.

After serving for three years as a trustee for Plymouth Harbor, Dr. G. Duncan Finlay is the newly elected chairman of the board of trustees. CEO of Plymouth Harbor Harry Hobson spoke on the change in leadership.

“Dr. Finlay has served as a trustee for the past three years,” Hobson said in a release. “He brings leadership, experience, vision and a passion that is consistent with Plymouth Harbor’s mission.”

Finlay also serves as president and CEO for the Florence A. Rothman Institute and CEO of Alive Sciences LLC. Previously, Finlay served as Sarasota Memorial Hospital’s chief medical officer and president and was CEO when the hospital was named among “America’s Best Hospitals” by US News and World Report.

Outgoing board chairman F. Thomas Hopkins will still serve on the board as immediate past chair. In his four years at the helm Hopkins’ efforts contributed to the opening of the new Wellness Center at Plymouth Harbor.

Joining Finlay as officers for 2015 are Sarah H. Pappas, Cindy Malkin and Brian D. Hall, serving as vice chair, secretary and treasurer, respectively.

Three new members will be joining the board this year: former president and CEO for the New College Foundation, John M. Cranor III; former Sarasota County Commissioner Nora Patterson; and CFO for Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, William Woeltjen.
