From wading pool treasure hunts to snow cones and water slides, East County families cooled off Saturday at the annual Splash Bash.

Lakewood Ranch Community Activities held the yearly back-to-school event at the Lakewood Ranch YMCA with food, prizes and booths for each of the event's sponsors. DJ Eric Martin kept the event up-to-beat with music. Inflatable slides—with a range of different heights—attracted kids who were looking for some high-speed fun.

"It brings the community together for fun. It's a beautiful day!" said Carlene Smith, the vice president of Community Activities.
