The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office opened Swift Road again after an investigation into suspicious objects found on the street.

Around 1 p.m. July 14, the Sheriff’s Department found a ceramic bowl filled with a chicken’s head and feathers, along with a unidentifiable cylinder-shaped object in a paper bag, according to a press release. The items were lying in Swift Road near Grand Cayman.

The Hazardous Devices Unit attempted to X-ray the item in the bag and discovered it was filled with a gel-like substance. The object was destroyed on the street, the press release said.

After waiting for 20 minutes, a bomb technician cleared the scene.
