Justin Bieber's new baby: Ohana estate

Look out, Longboat. Here comes trouble — of the teenybopper, pop star variety.

Everyone’s favorite Canadian heartthrob-turned-bad boy, Justin Bieber, will soon call Longboat Key home — more specifically, the Ohana estate on the north end.

The “Baby” singer purchased the Gulf-front compound during a quick trip to the Key in late February, deciding $22 million was chump change for a great place to party.

The estate includes three pavilions with almost 10,000 square feet of living space, giving the Biebs plenty of room to record or buy more monkeys to replace the one wrongfully seized by German customs officials in 2013.

Bieber’s bodyguards will take over the guesthouse while Bieber and on-again off-again girlfriend, Selena Gomez, make the main pavilion home. With six bedrooms, seven full baths and two half-baths, Longboat Key can expect to see a lot of colorful guests filtering in and out of the estate’s massive front gates.

When speaking with the Longboat Observer, Bieber’s agent mentioned that the star would love to add a helipad on the roof of one of the pavilions because the Biebs really hated the in-season traffic during his short visit.

“He just doesn’t have any time to waste,” said his agent. “Between his albums, fragrances and trying to get into the rap game, he’s really got his hands full.”

But the star isn’t always working hard to make those young (and old) hearts swoon.

The singing sensation made headlines earlier this year when he was charged with drunken driving, resisting arrest and driving without a valid license after police saw him drag racing Jan. 23, in Miami. Bieber was house-hunting for a Florida oasis on that trip, but after the arrest, decided the West Coast was more his speed.

It also doesn’t hurt that Gulf of Mexico Drive is the perfect long stretch of road for drag racing. A source close to the star said that was a huge selling point for Bieber and he “can’t wait to see how fast his Lamborghini can go.”

With plans to move in permanently later this year, Bieber is also closing on a vacation home in Atlanta. Residents of Atlanta are protesting Bieber moving to their fair city, fearing the bad influence that the pop star may have.

The 20-year-old celebrity is hoping Longboat Key will be a more welcoming community and is already planning free beach concerts for all Longboat residents once a week after 9 p.m.

“He loves to give back to the community,” said his agent. “He finds his music to be the greatest gift.”
