Goodwill Industries International recently announced Goodwill Manasota won the 2013 Volunteer Program of the Year for its Ambassadors Program, for which volunteers help promote the organization within the community.

The award recognizes an outstanding volunteer-driven program at a member Goodwill organization.

Goodwill Manasota President and CEO Bob Rosinsky says more than 300 volunteers dedicated 25,000 hours in 2012 to spreading the Goodwill mission.

“We’re thrilled this worthy program has been recognized,” Rosinsky says. “Our Ambassador Program is a people-to-people initiative that goes beyond simply writing a check.”

Goodwill Manasota volunteer ambassador Chris DeLeonardo accepted the award on behalf of volunteers.

“Ambassadors inform the community of the improvements Goodwill makes in the quality of so many lives—and inspire others to participate,” says Veronica Brandon Miller, vice president of the Goodwill Foundation. “We’ve witnessed the program’s effectiveness in multiple areas, including growth in donations, revenues, job connections, and jobs placed.”
