University Best Buy location burglarized

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is investigating the burglary of the Best Buy store located at 125 North Cattlemen Road.

Deputies responded to an alarm at the store just after 5 a.m. and found suspects had driven a vehicle into a garage door at the rear of the store. Several masked suspects entered the store, stole several pieces of electronic equipment and fled, a sheriff's office report states.

Four locally-stolen vehicles, which were used for the crime, were recovered in a parking lot at Cattlemen and Fruitville roads.

Anyone with information on the crime or the theft of the vehicles is asked to call Criminal Investigations at 861-4900 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 366-TIPS.
