The Manatee Association of REALTORS on Monday announced plans to scale back its Lakewood Ranch operations.

The association intends to sell or lease its two buildings, totaling 15,000 square feet, on Technology Terrace. The first is known as the Event and Conference Center and accommodates meetings and events of up to 300 people, while the adjacent building houses the association member store, office staff and training rooms.

“This large facility no longer fits our needs,” Association President Angie Cegnar said. “While no one can deny the impact of the recent changes in the real estate industry, many of these factors are beginning to normalize. We remain committed to excellence, innovation and looking out for the best interests of our approximately 1,200 members who represent every specialty of real estate, including residential, commercial and international.”

If the property is sold, the association may lease back a portion of the property, Cegnar said.
